Trekking to the Sueva Waterfall in the Guavio Region

We will travel in a group from Bogotá to the Sueva inspection in the Municipality of Junín. On the way we will pass through the municipalities of La Calera and Guasca where we will stop for breakfast. Then we will cross the large moor where we will make a short stop to enjoy this wonderful moor ecosystem and learn about its strategic importance in water regulation.

Upon arrival at the Sueva inspection, we will visit this small but charming hamlet that will be the starting point of the walk. Afterwards we will begin our walk where we will be able to enjoy the vegetation of the high Andean forest, and we will be able to recognize many orchids and bromeliads. We will walk through a complex of ravines and canals designed for the generation of hydraulic energy. We will also cross a tunnel that is more than 80 years old, and we will enjoy the landscape between the mountains of this beautiful Guavio region. We will end the tour at the Sueva waterfall where you can take beautiful photographs and enjoy this impressive waterfall. You can have your sandwich for lunch at the waterfalls and then return to the Van and return to Bogotá.

This trail is difficulty level 3 (medium). This is a route with some physical challenges, if you exercise occasionally, this route is for you. We will walk a distance of 9.5 km for 5 hours; We will reach a maximum height of 2357 meters above sea level. The weather can be very variable with rainy conditions, so it is necessary to bring a change of clothes. It is recommended for people over 12 years old.

What will the food be like?
