Experience a terrific adventure of canyoning and abseiling in the crystalline waters of Chirajara, a stone´s throw from Bogota.
roadtrip:info.availableIn Spanish
We will visit a river of pure and crystalline water very close to Bogota to enjoy the multi-dimensional activity of canyoning: an activity which can combine rock climbing, hiking, swimming and abseiling. Chirajara offers us the opportunity to abseil down some wonderful waterfalls, jump into pools, slide down natural toboggans and experience everything that water adventures can offer us in this wonderful natural water park of Chirajara.
We leave Bogota to visit the municipality of Guayabetal and do some extreme sports in the pristine waters of the Chirajara river.
This is a five-hour route which takes place in the canyon carved out by the Chirajara river, navigating obstacles using techniques of abseiling, enjoying natural toboggans, slipways in the river banks, waterfalls, water curtains and jumping into the river at the point of the Manto Del Mamut waterfall. To complete the hike there is a route through a cloud forest and some `via ferrata` to complete in order to return to the start of the route. In total there are 16 waterfalls combined with natural toboggans in the heart of the forest where leaping into the naturally sculpted pools formed by the rivers action over time and enjoying a refreshing dip is the order of the day. Finally, at the end of our activities we have an abseiling descent to complete the route.
Chirajara River
