Learn about the local history and culture of Piedra el Tabor. Connect with nature during a fantastic and demanding tour full of wooded landscapes and many natural pools of water.
The route begins in the main park of San Carlos. We will visit the Garden of Memory and we will have a guided tour with an explanation of the Colombian conflict in the region during the years 1999 - 2005; followed by a 3 hour ascent to the stone, passing by the San Antonio trail and a beautiful waterfall (La Viejita) and climbing the mountain through the forest, we will observe native plants and trees of the region, during the ascent to the Piedra el Tabor (800 m ascent - altitude 1850 m. We will enjoy an impressive 360° view of the valley, mountains and the village.
On the way back (2h trip), we will have a refreshing stop where we can swim in the natural pool formed by the waterfall and then walk back to the village. The route has a distance of 5km with an ascent of 800 meters.
Very early in the morning with our professional guide you will meet to start our tour to Piedra el Tabor.
You will arrive to the town of San Carlos, where we will have to start a trekking of approximately 5 hours and observe all the beautiful surroundings that we will see on the way.
You will be arriving in town around 4:30, once you finish the tour you will return to the city of Medellin to finish this experience.
Tabor Stone
It is an imposing landscape and natural viewpoint of the municipality of San Carlos, which is a little more than 200 meters high, which is why it is considered the second largest stone in Antioquia, after the El Peñol Stone.
