roadtrip:info.availableIn Spanish
We will travel to the heart of the Chingaza National Natural Park and keep up with the Andean bear and white-tailed deer. A privilege that very few people have had, entering this beautiful natural park through La Calera to walk along three of its trails and see its main lagoon La Laguna de Chingaza and if we are lucky we can sight the flagship animal of this paramo: the Andean Bear.
On this trip, visitors will take two beautiful walks where they will visit different lagoons and trails immersed in the beautiful and important paramo ecosystems present in the region. In addition, we will have the opportunity to sleep in a high mountain refuge and observe different species of flora and fauna such as deer, spectacled bears, frailejones, etc.
We will leave Bogotá very early in the morning to meet our environmental interpreter who belongs to the communities surrounding the park and will accompany us throughout the entire tour of the Chingaza PNN. Before heading to the park we will have an introductory talk to learn a little more about the extension, the fauna and flora and the ecological importance of this Natural Park.
After registration we will go to the park where we will enter through the Monterredondo sector to the Chingaza Lagoon, the largest and most representative body of water in the park, where we will begin the first day's walk, the path plants of the road that is characterized by its paramo ecosystem and part of the trail you can see the paths where the mule drivers used to take their products to the plain.
After the walk, you will have lunch in the park shelter and you will have the afternoon free to enjoy this wonderful park and organize your overnight stay.
On the second day after breakfast we will walk the Suasie trail where you can see white-tailed deer. After lunch we will make our way back to Bogotá.
